I labelled this post as Hand Crafted, since this battery box isn’t exactly perfect. It does look hand made, and mostly because my tiny 18″ bench brake for sheet metal. I used 5052 aluminum so it bent up pretty well without any cracks. This will get mounted in a vertical position to the bulkhead in the passenger seat area. Then the wiring will begin!

Dave and I worked really hard on developing some parts for the rear subframe assembly of the FC RX-7′s. Stabilizer bars, front differential mounts, upper diff mounts, DTSS eliminators, rear control arm bushings, camber bar, and soon camber adjusters for the rear control arms.
Machine actually did a bit of work today. Machined a sample hole pattern. Next up is to fix the bloody noisy spindle!
Been doing a lot of work with the machine, getting it ready for some actual part production. Been trying to get my control system organized. I have the control box mounted on the wall with custom mounts for the half-broken laptop and the monitor of which I need to angle down for better viewing. Computer does need more memory but seems to function pretty well so far.
It’s ALIVE! Just running a sample code right now, but the spindle starts and stops on command. The machine also makes pretty reproducible & accurate results.
